Do I need to take a new DNA test?

What exactly is a “peptide relevance score”?

A 0–100 measure of how closely your specific genetic variants match the biological targets of the five compounds studied in this pathway. A high score means many of your markers sit in the systems those compounds act on. A low score means few of them do — often a sign of a strong natural baseline.

It measures relevance to your genetics, not how healthy you are, and it is not a recommendation to take anything.

Does a low score mean I can’t build muscle?

No, and this is the most common misreading of the whole report. The score measures how closely your variants match the compounds studied in this pathway — it is a measure of peptide relevance, not of your muscle-building potential. A low score frequently means your natural signaling is already working well enough that these compounds have little to add.

Nothing in these four markers sets a ceiling on what training and protein can do for you. The largest driver of hypertrophy outcomes is still consistency over years, and no genotype in this report changes that.

Is the analysis done by AI?

The scoring is not. Your genotypes are matched against a curated, versioned rule set and the score is arithmetic on those matches, so the same file always produces the same result. That determinism is deliberate, and it is the main technical difference between this report and products that pass your genotypes to a language model and print the output.

I compete in a tested sport. Is any of this usable?

The genetic analysis is. The compound alignment section largely is not. IGF-1 LR3, IGF-1 DES and GHRP-6 sit in the growth-factor and secretagogue classes of the WADA Prohibited List, and ACE-031 is an investigational myostatin inhibitor whose development was discontinued. For a tested athlete, that is close to the whole compound list.

Your report carries each compound’s status alongside its score rather than burying it, but the report is not a compliance check and is not kept current against the list. Verify everything against the current WADA Prohibited List and your governing body’s rules. A high alignment score is not a clearance — it describes your genetics, nothing else.

The marker cards, fiber-type read and training guidance are unaffected by any of this, and are the part worth your $29.

Will this tell me the optimal rep range for my genes?

Not to that resolution, and any product claiming otherwise is overselling what four markers can support. What ACTN3 reasonably informs is a lean — whether heavy low-rep work or higher-volume hypertrophy work tends to suit you — not a prescription of sets and reps. The honest version is a tilt, not a program.

Anyone selling you a genotype-derived training block down to the rep is inventing precision the underlying research does not have.

Can I show this to my doctor?

Yes, and it is written to be handed over. Every marker card names the gene, the rsID and your genotype, and the report includes a methodology and references section so a clinician can evaluate the basis for each interpretation rather than take it on faith.
