Do I need to take a new DNA test?

No. This report analyzes the raw data file you can already download from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage or FamilyTreeDNA. No new kit, no new sample, no additional lab work. If you have tested with any of those services, your file is already sufficient — see the Raw DNA File Format Reference.

What exactly is a “peptide relevance score”?

A 0–100 measure of how closely your specific genetic variants match the biological targets of the five compounds studied in this pathway. A high score means many of your markers sit in the systems those compounds act on. A low score means few of them do — often a sign of a strong natural baseline.

It measures relevance to your genetics, not how healthy you are, and it is not a recommendation to take anything.

Does a low score mean my skin is ageing badly?

It means close to the opposite. The score measures how closely your variants match the compounds studied in this pathway — it is a measure of peptide relevance, not a grade on your skin. A low score frequently means your repair and antioxidant biology is already working well enough that these compounds have little to add.

And nothing in four markers can tell you how your skin looks or will look. Sun exposure, smoking, sleep and time do far more visible work than any genotype here, and the report says so rather than selling around it.

Is the analysis done by AI?

The scoring is not. Your genotypes are matched against a curated, versioned rule set and the score is arithmetic on those matches, so the same file always produces the same result. That determinism is deliberate, and it is the main technical difference between this report and products that pass your genotypes to a language model and print the output.

How do I send you my file?

What happens to my genetic data?

Your raw DNA file is used for one thing: generating your report. As soon as processing finishes, the file is erased from our systems. We do not keep it on file, we do not build a database of customer genomes, and we do not sell or share your genetic data with third parties.

Is this the same thing as a “DNA skincare” test?

Not in the way most of them work. A large share of consumer “DNA skincare” products read a handful of markers and then recommend a bundle of their own serums — the analysis and the shop are the same business, and the answer is never “you don’t need this.”

This report can return, and in the sample above does return, a low score with two compounds at no alignment and a plan built mostly around sunscreen, sleep and diet. It also names the gene, the rsID and your genotype for every call, so a dermatologist can check the reasoning rather than take it on trust. Whether that is worth $29 to you is a fair question; what it is not is a funnel.

Will this tell me which products or ingredients to buy?

Not to that resolution, and any product claiming otherwise is overselling what four markers can support. What these markers reasonably inform is a direction — whether antioxidant support, inflammation control or photoprotection is the more useful place to put your attention — not a specific serum, concentration or brand.

Anyone selling you a genotype-matched product list is inventing precision the underlying research does not have. Nothing in dermatology has yet shown that a four-marker panel can choose an ingredient for you.

Can I show this to my doctor?
